Eye Bags Treatments
Tiredness and ageing are just a few reasons why puffy, swollen eye bags develop under the lower eyelid. They can make some people feel self conscious, however a treatment can help to decrease the appearance of eye bags.

What are Eye Bags?
When skin under the eyes become puffy, swollen and sometimes darker in colour, then it’s often referred to as eye bags. These are caused by a loss of collagen and elastin which causes skin to appear thinner, more fragile and a little droopy.
Ageing plays a big part in the appearance of eye bags as skin loses its elasticity over time, causing ‘baggier’ skin. Plus, as we age, our production of collagen and elastin slows down. Excess sun exposure and smoking can accelerate this decline, making eye bags more likely.
Fat can also be redistributed across the face as we get older, and this fat may deposit itself underneath the eyes, again causing eye bags.
Other causes of eye bags include a lack of sleep. This can lead to fluid being stored under the eye, increasing the appearance of saggy skin. However, eye bags caused by tiredness are often temporary, and may disappear when normal sleep resumes.
Some people may be more prone to eyes bags if they run in the family and anyone who remains under chronic stress may also be more susceptible.
Although harmless, eye bags can have an impact on self-esteem, and you may prefer to have them treated to minimise their appearance. Get in touch to find out how we can help.

TREATMENTS FOR EYE BAGS
Localised Morpheus8 is an excellent treatment option for the delicate eye area and improving under eye bags, as well as dark circles and an overall tightening and toning of the skin above, around and under the eye. The treatment combines micro-needling with radiofrequency technology for fractional resurfacing that stimulates collagen production. The micro-injuries caused by the treatment stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin and help tighten, lift and thicken the supporting layers of the skin, resulting in firmer, thicker skin under the eyes with a refreshed and revatilised texture and tone.
