Pigmentation Facial

Our Pigmentation Facial combines two techniques to target areas of hyperpigmentation: medical microneedling and mesotherapy. The facial is designed to improve general skin tone and texture, whilst reoptimising melanocyte cell function to improve all types of hyperpigmentaiton, including melasma, sun damage and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.

After applying a topical numbing cream, 2mm Dermaroller Microneedling is used create dermal micro-injuries, which stimulate a controlled response in the skin to encourage growth factor release to promote melanocyte cell repair. it also stimulates producion of new collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the dermis layer of skin. Following this, a unique mesotherapy cocktail is injected into the dermo-epidermal junction of the skin using pain free nanosoft™ needles. The ingredients in the mesotherapy cocktail include a number of antioxidant tyrosinase inhibitors, such as vitamin C and glutathione, which directly act on melanocytes to reduce pigment production, and hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate the skin.  

The Pigmentation Facial actively addresses hyperpigmentation conditions leaving skin with a visibly more even and brighter tone. Skin texture will also improve and hydration will be boosted by this treatment. Microneedling has been shown in many clinical studies to be safe and effective in treating melasma and pigmentation in darker skin types, where lasers and IPL may not be suitable.

The Pigmentation Facial is designed specifically for the face and neck though we offer Microneedling as a stand alone treatment which can be performed on any area where there is pigmentation. 

This treatment is especially well suited to darker skin types which cannot be treated with Lumecca™ IPL  or other laser treatments.

The Pigmentation Facial can be used in conjunction with Bright Eyes which also aims to address pigmentation concerns, specifically around the eyes.

Some redness immediately after is to be expected but this usually goes down with 24 hours.

Yes - this treatment is specifically designed to be suitable for those with darker skin types (Fitzpatrick V + VI), for whom lasers and IPL treatments may not be suitable.

Yes - this treatment is designed specifically to treat stubborn pigmentation issues such as melasma that may not be suitable for treatment with other techniques such as lasers and IPL.

Yes - you can continue using your normal skincare products (including any prescription products) before and after the Pigmentation Facial.

Yes - the techniques used in the Pigmentation Facial are all suitable to be performed during pregnancy. We would suggest (as with any treatment) that these are done after the first trimester (3 months) for optimal results.

We suggest avoiding makeup for the first 24 hours after the Pigmentation facial to avoid bacterial seeding into the skin through the small channels created by microneedling. Post-treatment makeups, such as Oxygenetix, are however suitable to be used immediately after this treatment.
