WHAT IS Endolift®?
Endolift® is an advanced, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure for treating skin laxity and pockets of fat on both the face and the body. Endolift® uses a laser that targets both fat and skin, to induce skin tightening and fat reduction. In this way it is a useful alternative to surgical liposuction for those who wish to avoid a full surgical procedure, and has the additional benefit of skin tightening concurrently to prevent laxity following fat reduction.
HOW DOES Endolift® work?
The Endolift® laser treatment uses a thin fibre (around the thickness of a hair) which is inserted under the skin under local anaesthetic without the need for incisions. This new laser technology has a unique ability to heat soft tissues without causing necrosis to create areas of fat breakdown and skin contracture. The laser tissue causes fatty lobules to dissolve, whilst coagulating blood vessels in the area to prevent bleeding, and causes retraction and reorganisation of fibrous tissues to firm treated areas. The laser fibre also causes contracture and thickening of the skin overlying the treated area to cause lifting and firming of the tissues.
What are the benefits?
Endolift® is an ideal treatment for localised areas of stubborn fat on the face and body, associated with skin laxity. It is a new generation treatment that offers an alternative to surgical liposuction with much less downtime and risk. The short treatment, performed under local anaesthetic (following a series of injections) causes breakdown of fat pockets which may not shift with diet or exercise, and also causes the skin in the treated area to tighten and lift. It can be used to treat areas such as the abdomen for definition, and also the face as part of a 'nonsurgical facelift' procedure.
What areas can be treated?
Endolift® can be used to treat the face and body. The most commonly treated areas include the submental area (double chin), lower face, abdomen, inner thighs, flanks (love handles) and arms.
Can it be used with other treatments?
Endolift® can be used in combination with other skin tightening treatments such as Morpheus8 and with other skin rejuvenation treatments like Profhilo, Nucleofill and NanoFirm as well as all our facials. We recommend a series of lymphatic drainage massage treatments following the procedure to minimise post-procedure swelling.
What is the downtime?
Endolift® has relatively low downtime but may cause some swelling and bruising in treated areas. We recommend a series of lymphatic drainage massage treatments in clinic at week 1 and week 4 post-procedure.
This section aims to help address some key questions, but of course your practitioner will be able to answer all of your questions during the consultation
Can I have the Endolift® in combination with other treatments in the same appointment?
Generally we recommend against having any treatments during the same session as Endolift®.
Can I have additional Endolift® treatments if I see an improvement?
Yes, recommend waiting for 9 months' post procedure to see the full effects of your Endolift® treatment. At this stage a second treatment may be performed to enhance results further.
Can I exercise after having Endolift®?
We recommend against strenuous exercise for 48 hours post-treatment.
Can I have the Endolift® if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Although Endolift® is believed to be safe during pregnancy, we generally encourage patients not to have this procedure done whilst pregnant.
How long until I see results after the Endolift® procedure?
Although some results may be evident immediately after treatment, we recommend waiting for 9 months post treatment for assessment of the final result, due to collagen tissue maturation and resolution of swelling. At this stage if you wish to do a second procedure to enhance your results further you may.
