Treatments for Dull Skin

Morpheus8

Brought to the UK by Dr. David Jack, Morpheus8 uses gold coated microneedling tips to deliver radiofrequency to the dermis, rejuvenating and tightening the skin. Through controlled micro injury to the skin, the stimulation of collagen and elastin production improves elasticity, hydration, pigmentation and overall skin health.Collagen and elastin continue to improve within the months following the treatment, acting as preventative and improving the appearance of the skin from the inside out.

The PDRN Salmon Sperm Reset Facial

Leaving the skin with both an instant glow and long-lasting results, our PDRN facial combines advanced clinical techniques, including our signature Peptide 2-Phase Peel, Microneedling and Salmon Sperm PDRNs, to target dull skin. The combination of these techniques ensures regeneration of the natural tissue and restoration of damaged cells, restoring skin health and radiance with minimal downtime.

Polynucleotides

Through injections of high molecular weight polynucleotide chains, Polynucleotides restore natural water retention, boost dermal remodelling and increase collagen and elastin. By targeting and improving the quality of the skin, results show dramatically improved radiance and glow, with a visible reduction in fine lines. We recommend three sessions, two weeks apart for optimal results.

Products for dull skin

What causes dull skin?

The term ‘dull’ skin often refers to a complexion that lacks radiance, appearing dry, uneven and textured. Most notably, the condition of the stratum corneum of the epidermis, our outermost skin layer, is the most significant factor affecting the appearance of dullness. The skin barrier therefore must be maintained and protected.

As a buildup of mature skin cells rise to the surface and shed, causing congestion, the skin begins to appear visibly tired and flat. Treating the dead skin cell build up is fundamental to improve dull skin, involving gentle exfoliation such as Retinoid skincare, improving cell turnover, and chemical peels to refresh the surface.

Additionally, dehydration is often a combined cause of dull skin, emphasising fine lines and a rough skin texture. Alongside genetics, several environmental factors can contribute to dehydration and subsequent dullness, such as smoking, harsh weather conditions and ageing. To combat this, hydrating ingredients must be prioritised in skincare and in-clinic treatments, alongside ensuring internal hydration levels are optimised.
