Juläine™

Collagen is the protein that keeps skin firm, smooth and elastic, and our natural production of it declines as we age. JULÄINE™ is an injectable treatment that works by encouraging the skin to start producing its own collagen again.

It is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a safe, fully biodegradable material that has been used in medicine for decades, most familiarly in dissolvable stitches. JULÄINE™ works differently to a dermal filler: rather than adding volume, it acts as a trigger for the skin's own renewal process, so the improvement you see is created by your own new collagen, making it a targeted treatment for improving skin quality, firmness and lines.

JULÄINE™ is made up of tiny, highly uniform PLLA microspheres, created using the advanced LASYNPRO™ manufacturing technology. Once injected into the skin, these microspheres gently activate the fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen, prompting the skin to renew itself from the inside out. Over the weeks and months following treatment, the microspheres gradually biodegrade and are replaced by the skin's own newly formed collagen. This progressive collagen regeneration steadily improves skin firmness, smooths wrinkles and folds, and tightens the skin. Because the results are built by your own newly formed collagen, the improvement is gradual and long-lasting. Results typically become visible in the weeks following treatment and continue to build over the course of the treatment series.

JULÄINE™ can be used to treat the face, neck and body. On the face, it is particularly effective for nasolabial folds (the lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and areas of skin laxity, while on the neck and body it can improve skin firmness, quality and texture. Your practitioner will assess your skin during consultation and design a personalised treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Yes. JULÄINE™ can be used in conjunction with anti-wrinkle injections, and the two treatments complement each other well: anti-wrinkle injections soften lines caused by muscle movement, while JULÄINE™ works on the quality, firmness and structure of the skin itself.

Downtime can include raised bumps and slight redness around injection points, which can subside within a couple of hours, or within the following days. With any injectables there is a chance of bruising and/or swelling. This usually appears within 48 hours from treatment, and can be reduced by avoiding omega-3 fatty acid supplements, blood thinners and alcohol for 48 hours prior to your injectable treatments.
