Treatments for Sagging Face

Morpheus8

By targeting deeper skin layers, Morpheus8 stimulates collagen production and tightens the skin, reducing facial sagging with minimal downtime.

This innovative procedure creates controlled micro-injuries, triggering the body's natural healing response to produce more collagen and elastin. The result is firmer, smoother skin with improved texture and reduced sagging. With quick sessions and minimal recovery, Morpheus8 offers a convenient solution for a refreshed and youthful appearance.

Dermal Fillers

Reduce wrinkles and sagging skin caused by volume loss, with the help of strategically placed dermal fillers that are both fast-acting and have virtually no downtime. These hyaluronic acid injections contain molecules that are bound together by cross-links into cohesive gels, meaning they hold their shape when injected into areas where we aim to replace lost volume. When these are injected strategically under the skin in areas of predictable volume loss, they naturally restore the contours of the face in a subtle and gentle way. The body naturally breaks down hyaluronic acid so over time the fillers are reabsorbed safely into the body with no lasting effects. This helps to give sagging skin a firmer and more streamlined texture.

What is a Sagging Face?

A sagging face is caused by skin that’s lost its elasticity. It’s primarily down to a loss of the structural proteins collagen and elastin, which are needed to keep skin firm and supple. When levels of these proteins decline, our skin becomes slack and droopy.

Ageing is a primary cause of a sagging face. As we age, our skin experiences a natural decline of collagen, however excess sun exposure can accelerate this decline.

This is because ultraviolet light damages the collagen and elastin fibres in our skin. Smoking can also accelerate the decline of collagen and elastin as does general exposure to polluted air and chemicals.

The hormonal changes that occur at various points throughout a woman’s life may cause a sagging face too. Pregnancy, childbirth and menopause for example can impact the amount of collagen and elastin produced.

Some people may naturally be more susceptible to a sagging face. Age is a big factor however genetics also plays a role; if family members before you have experienced sagging skin, then there’s a higher chance that you will too.

Those who have lost weight or gained weight rapidly may also be more prone to sagging skin as the skin stretches and becomes loose.
