Your Treatment Guide

Your UltraClear™ Treatment

UltraClear™ is a unique, advanced, cold ablative fractional fibre laser, revolutionising skin rejuvenation whilst dramatically minimising downtime. Each mode of UltraClear is specialised to target a range of skin concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin and jowls. With its state-of-the-art technology, modes of UltraClear can target scars, such as acne and surgical scarring, alongside hyperpigmentation, like age spots and melasma.

Before your UltraClear™ Treatment

Before your UltraClear™ treatment, prepare your skin to optimise results and maximise comfort

From four weeks prior: avoid direct and intense sun exposure, such as tanning, and apply our All-Day Long SPF 50+ daily. Use our Yellow Peel weekly from this stage, and if prescribed during your consultation, start use of Hydroquinone.

From two weeks prior: stop all use of self-tanners, hair removal treatments, aggressive facials, chemical peels and microdermabrasion on the area.

A week prior: to reduce swelling and bruising, avoid: alcohol and excessive caffeine consumption, blood thinning medications, Omega-3 fatty acid supplements and Vitamin E (unless medically necessary), and exfoliating acids and retinoids. Moisturise daily with our Skin Cushion to keep the skin barrier strong. 

48-hours prior: stop using all active skincare ingredients such as AHAs and Vitamin C, and any scrubs or harsh cleansing devices.

24-hours prior: take your prescribed Anti-Viral medication if necessary.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR ULTRACLEAR™ TREATMENT

On the day of your UltraClear™ treatment, be sure to wear comfortable clothes and avoid any high neck tops and jumpers if you are
receiving treatment to the face and neck.

Please arrive with clean skin – free from makeup, heavy creams, lotions, perfumes and self-tanners, and ensure to have a light meal and keep hydrated prior.

You can expect to be in clinic for up to an hour and a half for the duration of the treatment and numbing cream if necessary.

AFTER YOUR ULTRACLEAR™ TREATMENt

Immediate Post-Treatment:

- No skincare or makeup products should be used on the skin at this stage.

- Avoid exercise and heat such as hot baths, showers, saunas and steam rooms to avoid heightening discomfort.

- If there is any discomfort, paracetamol or ibuprofen may be taken.

- Be sure to avoid intense sun exposure directly after treatment, and for the following 2 weeks.

- Ensure not to touch or pick the skin, and keep the skin dry for 2 hours.

(3-4 hours post treatment)

- Wipe your skin with the provided Clinisept antiseptic using the gauze provided and apply a layer of Aquaphor.

- Take the prescribed Anti-Viral if prescribed.

- Wash your face gently with water, wipe your skin with Clinisept, and apply a layer of Aquaphor in the evening.

*If you have had 3D Miracl, ensure to leave the skin dry and avoid any skincare all day.

Your skin will feel hot and tight, alongside appearing red and darker than usual. Swelling is likely to occur dependent on the mode of UltraClear™ used. We recommend taking non-drowsy antihistamines and avoiding consumption of substances containing histamines, such as alcohol, to reduce swelling.

Short-Term (1–4 days post treatment):

- Every morning and night, cleanse the skin with water and a gentle cleanser, such as our Supernova, and pat dry with a clean towel, avoiding picking and rubbing the area.

- Clinisept should be applied using the gauze provided, followed by a layer of Aqauphor ointment. Repeat this 3-4 times throughout the day.

- On day 3 post treatment, you may also resume your normal attendance of saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools.

- Ensure to take your prescribed antiviral medication, as directed.

*For UltraClear™ Eyes, your normal skincare routine may be resumed. For 3D Miracl, plase refer to the Aftercare guide.

Your skin will likely feel hot, dry and rough to touch. The skin may also still appear darker than usual, and alongside swelling and bruising, this this will reduce daily. Antihistamines can be continued to be taken to reduce any swelling.

Day 5-10 post treatment:

-  If your skin does not feel irritated, reduce the use of Clinisept and Aqauphor, in favour of gentle and non-active skincare, such as a our Supernova cleanser and the All Day Long SPF 50+ in the morning and night.

-  On day 5 you may wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Apply a layer of the Blue Face Peel sample provided, followed by our All-Day Long SPF 50+ moisturiser

Your skin should be feeling less red and sensitive, although there may be some residual swelling. It is normal for the skin to still feel dry and tight.

*For 3D Miracl, you may resume your normal skincare at this stage. Ensure you use the Blue Face Peel sample provided at this stage

-  From day 6, be sure to re-apply your SPF 2-3 times throughout the day to protect the skin from sun exposure, and apply a gentle moisturiser, such as our Skin Cushion, in the evening after cleansing. Continue to avoid active skincare products

- You may resume your normal exercise routine

Day 11 post treatment:

-  After UltraClear™ Mapping or Lift, you may resume your normal skincare routine at this stage, if your skin is no longer red or sensitive.

It is normal for some to experience redness for 2-3 weeks following the treatment. This will gradually subside.

At 4 weeks post treatment, please book in with your practitioner for a follow up appointment

Redness and swelling can occur for up to 3 weeks following treatment, dependent on the mode used and your skin type. Your skin is likely to feel hot directly following treatment and may become rough and tight. Some discomfort is also normal.

For 3D Miracl treatments, you should notice an improvement in your skin 2-5 days following treatment, with results lasting a few months. If you have had Mapping/Lift, post-healing and regenerative effects can take up to 6 months post-treatment to fully show, as your skin continues to improve. For more intense treatments, your skin continues to improve for up to a year and results can last up to 5 years.
